i had a friend help me with parts are these good

Total-$1,320.92 and the video card links to an XT not XTX. Tho, I sure wish my etailers had your math. :D

Go w/ PWMK2's picks. Steal Vista FTW! :p

Steal Vista FTW! :p

You are NOT a good influence on me, Jod.

PWMK's system picks look good. That case... eek, I dunno. But you gotta save money somewhere and it's probably better to skimp on that than the CPU, vid card or mobo.

I'd change the PSU to an Enermax Liberty 500whttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194003

The ram you linked is DDR400, couldn't find OCZ Gold Series 667 for the price you listed.

I'd change the monitor to a 19" widescreen for just a little bit more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116065

To make up the difference, you could step down a bit to the e6400.

yeah i am gonna get the 19 inch monitor but why go down 50 watts?

^that seems like a good rig, skip the OS though.....save some money on that ;)

Don't get that 19" widescreen sceptre...it's absolutely horrible for just about everything. The backlight bleed on one of the ones we have here at work goes about an inch up into the screen damn near all around.

imo change the PSU to seasonic S12 PSU,and replace the mobo with a cheaper 1 (gigabyte ds3 for example),and get a nother gig of ram insted, cant see why you need a 220 bucks mobo with that setup.

a new 8800gts card is just around the corner,i would wait for that if i was you,its under 300bucks.

Second Vote for the Antec Sonata case.. its a good one, and comes with a power supply.
if you buy separately, buy a seasonic PSU

And another vote for the Gigabyte DS3

also, you should consider getting the WD3200 drive.
they are only 90 bucks, well worth to doubling you drive space.

Third vote for Antec Sonata...I'd swap board to DS3 and os/hdd to a Seagate 7200.10 320GB.
