I want a new gaming laptop.

I'd like to keep it at about $1000.

The only thing I really need is RAM and a decent GFX card. I have an external for all my music and stored information. Ofc, a big internal HDD would be worth a lil extra.

I am currently looking at boutiques like Pudget, Ava, Alienware, etc... and Newegg, amazon, etc...

Any recommendations? What is a good midrange mobile GFX card?

So far it is a toss up between a stock MX11 and this AVA laptop, "GAMING NOTEBOOK MSI MS-1682-ID1 (CX600) Performance Notebook, 16" WXGA Glossy TFT LCD, ATI® Radeon™ HD 4330 512MB Graphics"

How would those two compare, if similarly specced, graphically?

17" is too large for me. 15" screen is perfect. and I can make 11" work if its worth it

That first lappy you posted blows the mx11 out of the water for me. 11" is just too small, I dont need something THAT portable.

weird dblpost. sorry

Alienware M17x Laptop: Core 2 Quad Q9000 2GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, 2x 1GB GeForce 260M SLI, 17" 1440x900 LCD, 9-Cell Battery, Win 7 Premium $1205
