Hey, Im need of a new gaming laptop. I have upwards of $2500 to spend on it. Ive seen alienware and was tempted to buy the m17x but saw that the graphics cards were old. Im looking for something with massive GPU power and would prefer dual cards or least cards with dual chips on them. RAM and CPU arent to important but an I7 core is what im after. Harddrive doesnt need to be to big either. The reason for smaller processor and ram and harddrives would be becuase that can be upgraded at a later date. Looking for a HD screen as well. 17" screen is preferred. thanks for the help in advance
 
$2500 is way too much. Wait a bit for the Asus G73JH models to become available. They are hard to get right now, but it will get better. ATI 5870, 8GB ram, Core i7, and Dual 500GB HDD's. 17". Plus it looks badass....

$1600 on newegg.
 
Yea your never gonna get a high enough resolution on a laptop to need more than 1GB of VRAM at the moment.
 
im planning for the future thats why I want a hugely powerful vid card. 1 gig just seems small now I guess.
 
For that budget, I'd hold off a little while for a maker to come out with a dual 5870 laptop. It should only be a matter of weeks; both Sager and AW are rumored to have models in the works.

I'm usually not one to delay on buying hardware, but in the case of laptops, you want to get the best/newest tech possible for longevity (and resale value).

If you want the absolute best bang for your buck by a long-shot right now, get the Asus G73jh. I've had mine for a month and couldn't be happier.
