My Steelseries 4h set has lost sound on the left, so I need a new headset. I was very happy with the 4h set and would like to get something similar in sound and the quality of mic.
Headset/headphones will be used for gaming mostly, but also music and movie/tv shows.

Budget is $100 give or take a few bucks. Right now i'm debating between AD700's (or the A700, I don't want to bother people in the same room as me), Corsair HS1 or HS1A, or another set of Steelseries (either the Siberia v2 or 5H v2). If there is a better option than one of these three i'm open to other suggestions as well.
 
AD700. the sound won't leak out enough to bother other people unless the volume is way too high.
 
Ended up going with the HS1 since I don't have a sound card, should be here on Monday.

If, for some reason, i'm not satisfied, would I need to get a soundcard for the AD700's?
 
you wouldn't need to but you would benefit from doing so. an AD700 plugged into onboard audio will sound better than an HS1. with a good sound card and an amp, exponentially so.
