Ok. Finally down to the last few parts and need advice. Power supply, video card and external storage.

External hard drive:
With my case, I have quick access on top for a sata drive but would I be better off going with usb3.0? It's going to be for music and video but would like the faster option as I do alot of transferring.

Power supply:
I want reliability. I was pretty set on a subsonic x 650 but just want some feedback. Should I go with 750? Are these really good power supplies? I want this to be the best part of my build as I would hate blowing my mb, CPU and ram.

Video card:
I have no idea here. It will be hooked to a 55" led 1080p so I don't need an ultra high end card but I definitely want top of the line for the max resolution. Name brands only. Prefer ati/amd but not totally against nvidia.

Here are the other parts:

Case
Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

Motherboard
ASUS P8Z68 PRO (REV 3.1) GEN3

CPU
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz

CPU Fan
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO

Memory
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1600

SSD Main Drive
Intel 510 Series 120GB SATA III SSD

DVD Burner
ASUS 24X DVD Burner

I like Corsair PSUs but Silverstone and Seasonic also make great ones.

I have a 6950 2GB that has ran everything flawlessly to my taste on 1080p. Now I don't always play the newest, latest and greatest games right when they come out so I haven't tested it with BF3, Metro 2033, Crysis 1 or 2, etc but Skyrim, The Old Republic Beta, not the newest Total War but the two immediate prior, DO:A all have ran at max settings at very playable frame rates. I think XFX, Sapphire or Asus would be good choices on AMD manufactures.

Way to stick to the plan, TheGardenTool. I was trying to spare everyone from the Great Wall of Text ((C) and (TM) Danny Bui, 20XX). [/sarcasm]

moteasah, when I looked at your post, my first response was literally, "What are you using this for?" If the primary purpose of this machine is for gaming, then I believe that you're overdoing things in certain areas while neglecting other, equally crucial areas.

And it seems like you're trying to buy the "absolute best" parts available, but they may not be the best parts for your needs I'm also a bit confused about your requirement for an external hard drive. Is this chosen as a cost-cutting measure (versus buying an internal HDD that may cost more)? Are you planning on using this drive on several different systems? Do you already have internal storage and are looking for an external device (in part) for backup?

I have some more questions (and concerns), but rather than recreate that Great Wall of Text, I'll wait for you to answer the sticky questions.

Very sorry about not posting this sooner.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
70% Diablo 3, 30% Adobe Premier/After Effects

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1700ish

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Florida, Tampa

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, PSU, Mobo, CPU, CPU Heatsink/Fan, Video Card, Memory, SSD Main Drive, DVD Burner

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
55" LED TV, Keyboard, Mouse

6) Will you be overclocking?
Nothing extra. Just the auto boost thing from the i7

7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1920x1080. 55"

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As soon as I figure out these last few parts. Case CPU and internal sad drive already here.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
SATA 6gb/s, USB 3.0, Onboard Sound and I'd like Onboard video.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No. I'll be using Windows 7, 64 bit.

Going with ssd intel 510 series 120gb for main drive and externals for music and tv shows/movies

PSU wise, get this Seasonic 750W PSU right now while it's still on sale:

GPU wise, since Adobe software does take advantage of Nvidia's CUDA tech, you're better off with an Nvidia card such as this $350 eVGA GTX 570 card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130622

SSD wise, if you want to save money and increase your performance a little, I'd recommend the Crucial M4 128GB instead. Uses the same SSD controller as the Intel 510 series but offers slightly higher performance and a lower price.

Definitely just ordered the seasonic 750. Wasn't too concerned about a budget but $80 off is all mine.

The Asus P8Z68-V Pro 3.1 GEN3 says it has a DVI out but says it doesn't have onboard video? Am missing something?

I'm going to get a GPU card but want my mobo to have video.

Well technically the Z68 boards don't have onboard video because the Sandy Bridge CPUs have them integrated.

Anyone know if ill have space issues with the cooler master 212, corsair vengeance and my case corsair Obsidian Series 650D? Should I change ram?

You may have issues with the RAM and the CPU cooler. You should buy the Vengeance LP (low-profile) RAM or find different RAM (G.Skill's pretty good) with lower (or no) heatspreaders.

I just want good memory that will fit. I'll look into both of those suggestions :)
