New game suggestions

Ok, it has been a few years since I have played any PC games but i want to get back into it with some new games. Trouble is, I am not sure what is good and I would like recommendations. I used to play alot of Quake 3/TA and I just got copies of Quake 4 and ET: Quake Wars. Are there any other recommendations for the newer games?

Please note, i don't have the greatest gaming machine:
AMD X2 Dual Core 3.0ghz
Gigabyte Motherboard
2GB DDR2 memory
nVidia 9600 GSO

Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Dead Space
Bioshock
F.E.A.R.
Half Life 2

Those are great shooter games that dont require a ton of graphics processing power. With lowered levels, you should be able to play all of these. And since theyre a little older, theyre pretty cheap as well.

if you don't already own it on console, you should get Mass Effect 1 & 2, Sci fi rpg with guns.

Men of War, great RTS.. just horrible voice acting.

You should definently take a look at Steam while everything is on sale. Only 13 hrs left to blow a hole in your wallet :p

At the risk of getting flamed by all the haters on here, I think Modern Warfare 2 is basically where it's at as far as FPS is concerned right now. ;)

for a console gamer yes, for a pc gamer you want bad company 2

I play on the PC FTW. :) I have not played BC2 but it looks pretty cool. What about it (other than cheaters/servers/service issues with IWnet) do you think is better than MW2? I'm assuming you've played both. Do you think gameplay in BC2 is actually superior to MW2? If so, how?

I know one way in which BFBC2 trumps MW2 and that's dedicated servers. Other than that I don't know because I haven't played the new BF...I am however a fan of MW2.

I was one of the people that didn't purchase it because of the server issue...my dad ended up gifting it too me through Steam and after a few weeks I can actually say that it wasn't as bad as I thought.........I would still have liked the game a ton better had there been ds's.

Yeah, it seems like the lack of dedicated servers is one of the main things people are upset about. I get bummed out because of all the hackers on there too. But I'm wondering if there is any advantage to BC2 as far as actual gameplay is concerned. I doubt it.
