New Freesync Monitor - do i dump 1080ti?

Last time i've had crossfire was with Radeon 3870. Ill never forget what a waste of money that second card was and trying it to work. Since then I've completely ruled out SLI / CF until i could see some positive feed back, and im still waiting. lol.

Obviously not. My point was that AMD does have an option for high performance, if you are willing to pay and deal with multi-GPU.

The point was that RTG has no options to answer three nVidia cards (Pascal Titan X, 1080 Ti, and Pascal Titan XP). Throwing another Vega 64 in the mix doesn't really change that fact.

(Also very amusing to see someone who spent a month plus in the owners thread pointing out Vega mGPU didn't even work for over that timeframe to even postulate mGPU as a reliable scenario despite your two disclaimers at the end of the sentence.)

Yeah, well, the AMD driver didn't launch with Crossfire Vega support. It took about a month, but it's mostly working now.

There are still some issues, sure, and some games don't work (for example the new Deus Ex was supposed to have mGPU but doesn't work anymore). But, in the games it's working, the performance is great.

Honestly i would chillax right now as ces 4k 144hz gsync/freesync displays should be out. i was going to get a new monitor to replace my Gateway FHD2400 since i got a wega 56 on the cheap new but 2k/4k not at 144hz does not do anything for me.

I cant see 4k 144hz out in 6months. Not to mention 1080ti struggles 144fps on 1440p / Ultra.

Besides the fact that the good 4k 144hz displays will be 10-bit+, have HDR, and cost thousands of dollars.

I went through the same conundrum as the op... I ended up doing my research and went with a Samsung freesync 100 mhz monitor. I am an amd fanboy... But:

I've had nothing but problems starting with having to upgrade to a faster card (290 x2 to rx480) now to driver issues and the display being dropped from the system.

I haven't had any experience with Nvidia g sync. Just wanted to spread some truth bombs.

This screen is huge.

First game i tried was F1 2017. Ive noticed slight tearing straight away the game sets it to 74hz . Once vsync is on it gets alot better but nothing like xb271hu.
Maybe i dont notice it as much on 27" coz it feels sooo small haha.

38" is just another level of fun it is so big.

I tried looking for skipped frames i didnt see any in short test ive done.

Overall im happy at moment. Ill report back after few weeks.

Done proper test with xt2 set to 1/10 shutter. Found no issues with skipped frames.

Also i think QA on this must be high.
No dead pixels, light bleed.
My xb271hu has both!
