New eVGA challenge

they better hope a working ATI client never gets released.. because if one does they can kiss any chance of that lead goodbye.. I'll gladly spend a couple grand on ATI/AMD cards before i ever drop another dime on a nvidia card..

I'm conflicted. I would like to fold for [H] but I also own EVGA cards. What to do? LOL.

lol, fold for [H] and take a shot at EVGA with their own hardware ;)

love to see this challenge, honestly I wish them well, because their push for 100 million ahead of us will in turn push us to go harder, and of course make OCN go even harder (they want to take #1 dont they?).....so in the end team EVGA's personal challenge will effect two other large teams....

They are out-producing us by 2.5 million points per day...a 100 million point lead isn't much of a goal...

No, it's not.... But I'd still like to see 'em work for it :p

That is if we let them get it at all :D

I don't have much to offer, but I have been readying all 4 sig rigs over the past week, all are in full SMP/GPU (SMP not on the server) swing as of about an hour ago, for sustained 24/7 production.

Every little bit helps right ? :)

You've got a good 30-40k PPD at least coming from those systems. That's not a little bit at all.

Every little bit does help bro

The lead will drop here in a few days and our daily production will be much closer, it'll be easier to make a move then

Till then, just looking at my SR2 only getting 75k.... Really?

1 EVGA motherboard and 2 EVGA videocards folding for 33 forever !

It's on like Donkey Kong! (just as soon as I get back from vacation)

Unfortunately just sold one of my higher output rigs (i7-860 @3.8 w/ dual GTX460) but will soon be filling that gap with 3x GTS450. I'll be back up to full production again soon.

Should be fun! Considering what eVGA gave out when they got to 4bil, I wonder if some of the eVGA folders will be folding for the thought of getting "prizes" for getting to their goal.

Probably the silliest goal ever set.

Essentially they're just saying "lets keep a PPD above the Horde and we win!"

There isn't even a time line to hit 100,000,000 more points than us. Where is the fun in that?

That would mean they'd have to pick up the pace. :D

Remember, if the answer isn't "Throw more eVGA buckz at it", the question is outside their box of thinking... :D

At current they are keeping around a 1.5 mil ppd lead on us. If we keep ramping up and adding new members, we should be able to close that gap.

They may have the points (for now), but they'll never have a Team #33.

well now that the month is over my 8800GS's will go back to use. took a week off from gpu folding to save a couple dollars on my electricity bill.

That is going down _ EOC has us only 700k behind at the moment. They are also worried... http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=647828:D

Last night there was some posts accusing us of using proxy server programs to ensure we only connect to work servers that give out WUs we want. I lol'd.

Then there was a post about that BMW character (husband/wife shared account?) saying how they made scripts to do exactly that and tried to justify it saying it didn't hurt anything. Then they also stated they had just outsmarted everyone with their PhDs.

Afterburner cleaned it all up to avoid major drama, can't say I don't agree with doing that tho, lol.

What a joke.

check my thread....http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1558046

The reason AB cleaned the thread was last time they had ths discussion it got nasty, its not the first time the threads involving BWM have been edited

And it likely won't be the last as long as they continue posting about their methods. Nevertheless, the mods at EVGA can be a little more surgical about what is removed from threads. Wholesale deletions are not necessary if there has not been offensive material posted, however controversial. EVGA badly wanted a F@H team, well they have to man up to the kind of drama that sometimes occurs on F@H forums. It's part and parcel with this project.

They'll be okay, EVGABucks kicks in tomorrow after all....

I am patiently waiting for the arrival of a good ATI client

sounds like v7 is coming along nicely and should be in beta soon with hopes of public by years end if not sooner. that will probably be a public beta but something is better than whats out now. im interested to see how well some of the newer cards preform, less powerful but more abundant shaders hopefully work really well. i wouldn't mind saving some watts in the future by running some ati cards.

This....I have 2 5770 cards waiting to get a good increase. I'll be getting my two 460s, 8800GTS and gtx260 back in gear here shortly.

I know EVGA bucks just kicked in but they are only out doing us by less than a mil per day, if'n yall get where I'm going with this...

With 2 updates to go they already have us by 2 million today, and the first day is always sluggish in their monthly ramp.

If you get where i'm going with this.....
