As we're seeing the D10 cards being released before Vista itself, my question is. Can we use D10 cards on our XP system (of course only running Dx9 software) before we have to upgrade to Vista?
Because Vista won't even be commercially availble till Jan 07, it would make sense that the new cards released early november will work on XP.

Well, will they?

Haha sweet, I might end up replacing my 7600GS faster than I think.

I guess I should've posted this in general video card discussion but whatever.

but, you can't get dx10 on xp. I was reading in my maximum PC magazine that microsoft isn't gonna bother with making it backwards compatible. once you get vista, then you can run dx10 and turn on all the pretty things.

It is DX10 and DX9 and DX 8 and DX7 etc.

It has lots of GPU space for DX10, but will run dx9 games, and not turn on that bit of the GPU until DX10 is installed and you are working under vista.
