Thanks dude, however I have not downloaded this yet due to a 504 timeout (will try later) but I do have coolbits already in the registry, it's just not showing up in the nvidia control panel;both the new panel and old, any thoughts?

You have to reapply it everytime you install a new driver. The OC options are there in the driver, but coolbits unlocks them(there not unlocked standardly so the un-experience standard consumer doesnt come across them and say what jack this bar all the way to the right so I get the most of my money). So when you uninstall the drivers you are deleting that registry entry. You have to re-enter it when you install the new ones. Just how it is.

Do not use Coolbits for the 7900. I ran into problems with my board, with all the signs of a dying board, after an initial troublefree period with Coolbits.
It started with artifacting and freezes in "Deepfreeze", and then more and more programs started to misbehave.
Somebody suggested to use Riva tuner or AtiTool for overclocking.
I had no believe in this, but since you never know, I tried.
To my surprise everything worked fine again, and is still working fine after two months.
If you want a permanent overclock in 3D, it is even better to change your BIOS with Nibitor.
I can see the difference between Coolbits and AtiTool/Rivatuner when 3DMark06 starts. With Coolbits my screen flashes just before the application starts running.
With Atitool/Rivatuner this does not happen.
Obviously somethings gets upset when Coolbits starts acting, which gradually makes your board sicker and sicker.

I would get riva tuner personally. I use it myself...everytime i install new drivers, i open up Rivatuner and enable overclocking...will ask you if you like to detect settings, click Detect Now...close it open up NV control panel and coolbits automatically enable. I just overclock using rivatuner, but i saw that it enables coolbits for you =) You can just keep it installed and enable it everytime you reinstall NV drivers.

What do you mean that Rivatuner enables Coolbits. Rivatuner has its own overclocking mechanism and does not use or need Coolbits at all.
I won't say one bad word about Coolbits, but the combination 7900 and Coolbits is bad news.

Please re-read what i wrote above cause i dont think you're understanding me. If you install rivatuner and enable the overclocking feature, it will enable the overclocking feature in the NV control panel, which is coolbits =) the same registry is adjusted to do the exact same thing. Some people still us coobits just cause its easy...rivatuner does give you more control....NV control panel lets you somewhat test for your highest overclock speed. I dont personally thinks this works, but to each their own.

I said i was using it myself, however the benifit to having rivatuner for those that use coolbits, is you dont have to reinstall it each time you reinstall the drivers. You just click Detect now on the overclocking feature and it will turn on the overclocking in the NV control panel.

Coolbits and Rivatuner are both enabling the same "Overclocking Feature" in NV Control Panel, but it cannot mean that Coolbits becomes involved when you use Rivatuner.
I believe that you have not read my posting #5 of this thread.
Coolbits is working differently from Rivatuner, simply proven by the fact that my board no longer works in 3D with Coolbits, and works fine with Rivatuner.
