Well my daughter took my speakers for her comp since her old one's are generic cheapos.I am looking to get 2 bookshelf speakers powered by a Sonic Tamp. They need to be shielded as they will go next to my monitor and very little or no modification to the speakers. Trying to keep it under $200 for the speakers any suggestions. Also a question for the more knowledgable people why should you not hook a sonic t amp to headphones like th DT700's?

The second question is easy: Headphones use a small fraction of a watt; the T-amp provides several watts. Headphones will go boom.

If you're willing to go DIY...
