I'm thinking of buying an aluminum mid-tower case, and I thought this to be very interesting:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112397

It has one thing that is fundamental for me, which is the HDDs enter laterally, and not from behind. I wish it had more trays, but to get one with more I would probably have to go for a higher case, and I do not want that. There's also space for my 2.5" SSD, and I can the external trays for more HDDs., as I only need one DVD. I am not sure yet if it's worth it buy BD recorder.

It has the fans where I need them to be (back and front), and they are all 120mm, so they run silent.

Mated with the EVGA supply I plan to buy, it should work like a charm.

Any other model or brand this size anyone would recommend?

All my cases, with the exception of 1 are all Lian Li. I love Lian Li, light, customizable, and you can find replacement parts easily.

I have a LIAN LI PC-9F, which is a variant of this case. Layout is pretty good, but the thickness of the aluminum isn't quite up to the quality (it's not as thick) of some of the older Lian-Li cases I have, but it was a lot cheaper that those older cases. It's still better quality than most cases in the $100 range.

If you want more hard drive bays the PC-9F has more hard drive bays.

I have the 9F too. But I took out the hard drive bays. It has much better airflow now.

Looks like you take them off to put fans in, or as an exhaust, but it's not apparent (and they don't count them in the specs) unfortunately.

In fact the 9F looks better to me because of the extra slots, also laterally extracting.

I didn't realize the 7H has frontal 140mm fans, which should help keep the HDDs cooler and make less noise.

So I wonder what's better for me. The slightly taller 9F should fit where it will be, I think. Unfortunately I am not home to check on that.

The optional fans on top look like a good thing too.

9f top fan is 140. two front 120 and rear 120. By default, top has a 140mm block off plate.

That is fine too. I have a 140mm top fan on my present case that I could move to the new one.
