For those that have not noticed yet a copper, 1/2" setup is soon to be available for your 7950GX2s...and it will support Quad SLI.

We have a new little "block" that's in testing now! It does allow true 1/2" flow if one chooses and is the only solution that is copper based (no aluminum). Also, it will be ready to go with the Quad SLI systems!!

Shouldn't much more than $160, I'd think. This thing seems to have more copper than their previous "single card" blocks, but it doesn't look it has that much more. It also seems to be comprised of two identical base plates, which should help keep costs low.

Who's familiar with the GX2 layout? Is that sliver of copper not covered by the top plate covering VREGs or memory?

It looks to be part of the PCI-e interface. Looking at the traces coming from it half or so go straight to the slot tang and the rest head off up the card. I'd assume it has something to do with providing an interface to the second card.
 
I have been looking at that for about a month now. They sure have been taking their time testing this....by the time this comes out, the dx10 cards will be out and it will be useless to own one to overclock mine further.
 
On the DD forum, a DD employee said the retail price will be $199.95 and are being built right now.
