If this is the first true upgrade in 7 years to a new architecture I wonder how much of a difference it will make in real world gaming (I imagine music listening won't matter too much, except for the better SACD/DVD bitrate support). Will this impact software design and change the way games sound for the better? I've still yet to find gaming audio completely immersive the same way one might find dvd. Effects just don't seem to take full use of 5.1 channels to create a 3d environment, not to say that one doesn't get 5.1 sound, but it's not as if the full path of a rocket can be heard from rear to above to front. I'd be curious to know how you guys think this card might change pc audio?
