So I upgraded from a ASUS P4Pe and a 2.4b to a IC7-G, 2.4c, A and a CM Aero 4 Lite.

It seems to work fine.

I just got a few questions.

When I installed it and put the proc in and booted up and everything, it said the CPU was unusable or had been changed. However the guy before me was running a P4 EE, so its prolly a big change for it. I cleared the CMOS and now it works, anything else I should check?

The temp for the idle cpu is reading at 42 c, which is know is wrong, weather my fan is on low or high for my hsf it seems to stay the same. I heard they read about 10-15 C higher than they are. Is this true?

Last time on my old mobo when I installed the new chipset drivers, something went bad and I had to reformat. Like when ever something stress full, like after 2 min of CS, or when 3dmark was starting to run the 1st test it would shut off and reboot. It did that when I was instaling windows, it restareted and every time I got a little further. I got windows installed now and everything works well. I DO NOT HAVE THE CHIPSET DRIVERS FOR MY NEW MOBO INSTALLED.

Today I will use my other CD rom and try and install my programs and drivers in the best order. Tho for some reason it detects the rom, let me install it for windows, but won't read whats on the CD< it keep saying that there is no CD in there.

So in review
Do the temps read higher?
Why does it randomly restart, should I think its fixed but will the new chipset drivers help?
Whats wrong with my CD drive
Everything seems to be working well, but for some reason it let me use my CD rom for installing XP, that work.

Thanks

Why didn't you just go into the BIOS and set up the correct values? Anytime you swap a mobo out, you should reformat and re-install completely. I would install the chipset drivers anyway...because their needed. However, on some systems, they have to be done in the correct order. For example, on mine...I have to do the chipset drivers...then DirectX 9b....then my ATI drivers, or else my games lock up.
