midnight on saturday night seems a bit too optimistic. now the monday after the price cuts, that seems pretty realistic assuming the 22nd is the official date.

its just you, those figures have been around for quite some time and different sources have shown them. also drops of that size are pretty common with cpu manufacturers.

This is the Core (heh heh) of my AGP/AthlonXP exit strategy--with a cheaper E4300, I can pick it up with an AsRock DualVsta for a combined total under $200 and keep using my 6800GT AGP/DDR400. Save up money to transition those over to DDR2/PCI-E, then get a better mobo. Along the way I get the chance to see just how far the 6800GT can go with a better CPU.

edit: OT, sorry--I read somewhere that the DualVsta doesn't support G8X series cards--is that (still) true? When I make the PCI-E leap, I want to go to the top.

these prices arent low enough for me, im just gonna hold out until Q3 and get a quad core then the e6300 is already fast as it is for me already

damn...i bought my e6600 about a week ago for $305.00 from zipzoomfly. i was so busy looking around in the video card and monitor sections, i didn't even know about this price cut. Oh well...at least i got a copy of SC and a cool shirt for free...lol. now it's time for the 8800's to drop in price dammit...i've been waiting for a while for that one!

Q4 October, November, December

Even though different corporations use different fiscal years, when discussing quarters with the general public, they use this system. It keeps things clear.
 
Anyone know if the newer 1333Mhz bus CPU's will work on our 'older' P965 chipset motherboards at 1066Mhz?

A lot of P965 boards just need a bios-update to support the 1333 MHz bus and the new CPUs. Without the update it may not work because the new CPUs won't be detected. Depends on what the BIOS does with unrecognized CPUs.

But I had a BIOS update for my Asus P5B Deluxe months ago, which enabled 1333 MHz bus and new Core2 CPU support (Conroe E0 and Conroe L).
I have seen similar BIOS updates from other manufacturers such as MSI and Gigabyte.

Q4--back to Stroggos

damnn and i just bought me a e6420... any future specks on the E65XX series. if the price falls to 183.. wondering if its worth waiting till july

Are you talking about the E6750 for $183?.... Let me know what you think if you do upgrade to that.....

Why? AFAIK the date being thrown around is July 22, not May 22. You'd be waiting 2 months and a week, not just a week.

You do realize that the post you quoted was made almost a month ago and was regarding the the April 22nd price cuts, not the Q3 ones.
