Hey guys,

So I have a slightly older build - rig is in my sig - that was just lying around, and I decided to give my myself a little upgrade SO i could finally play all those games on steam :)

The problem is, the ninja is a POS heatsink. Its too big for those little plastic clips to hold it tightly against the proc, but I threw away my stock cooler and have run it with this for a long time now.

I was wondering what the best cooler would be in the $50 range, as I want to OC the processor so that I can get the best performance with the 5850 I'm going to get.

Also related, is the Corsair H50 worth it? It looks appealing but I am a little concerned about noise/liquid leaking.
 
I own the H50 and i would say that the noise is non existent, from the pump anyway, and you can always get a more silent fan if you want, as far as leaks, its completely sealed so the chances of that are slim, (knock on wood). i would say that its a really great entry into the liquid cooling world, but now im itching for a "real" wc setup so you may get pulled into that as well. if you can find an h50 for around 60 bucks like i did, id say nab it.
 
I have a TT120 that cooled my Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz wonderfully..I went with water with my new X6 build or I'd still be using it..I'd be willing to let it go for $26shipped, which is roughly half of it new..PM me if your interested..

SPCR wasn't impressed by the noise of the H50, so it depends on what your idea of "quiet" is, my friend thought his Antec 900 was quiet, I thought it sounded like a bloody hurricane :p

CPU coolers always get mixed reviews because of different set up and variability in how well the reviewers mounted them, the SPCR review is one that shows the H50 in a worser light than others.
 
Thanks for all the help guys - I've ordered the Corsair H50 for now - hopefully it should be good for my needs!
