After waiting to see what amd was going to do i finally had it and am going intel. to my suprise the cost of the conversion was about 550.00. maybe this will get some amd people off the fence, because intel will be ruling the cpu scene for quite a few years.
intel core2 duo e6700
evga 8800 ultra video card
evga 680i ai version mobo
corsair twin2x2048-8500c5d memory
also adding a wd caviar 250 hd
and a new apogee gtx cpu water block
all that cost 1301.00 after rebates.
the kicker is that i sold my 4800, memory, video and mobo for $755
should have all the parts in by next week
that is quite a savings. the old computer parts r still pulling their weight when it comes to resale valve.
i was going to buy a qx6700 chip but i understand they will have a hugh price drop in july, so i will wait till then, because quad core is definitely the way to go. all these products i got at zipzoom fly which ships everything for free.
