I'm gettin a new system, and I need to know what you all think of it. I'm not building it myself (getting it from cyberpowersystems.com) and I'm not going to be doin much gaming. Just basically for Interneting and music. I'm just lookin for ways to make it cheaper that won't sacrifice to much performance. Right now it's at $1200.

If i were you, I would build the machine myself because according to several users on the internet and the BBB, the company hardly honors their warranty. I thought about buying from them myself but when I found out how many disgruntled users there were with their computers not turning on, the company ignoring the users ( btw, I heard that the computers don't come with any manuels but they were very experienced users), and with the horrible customer support, that was somehting that was that I would try to avoid at all cost. DIY is probably the way to go.

Also, does anybody have any experience with cyberpowersystems.com or ibuypower? I don't know how to build a computer, or else I would...

You could buy a book on how to build a computer or check out a guide at the internet, or even read an article or two on PCWorld, PCMag, etc. I was in the same boat (I needed a new system) and I didn't want to build my own because of experience problems but, some reading took care of that really quickly. Another option would be to ask a friend to help you. Only buy from OEMs if you truly are unsure of yourself.

First off, you can save money on the video card and processor if you wont be using it for gaming. For processor go for an XP2500+ and whatever mobo goes with that, and for video card you might consider the ATI 9550 instead of the 9600 Pro.

edit: the ram is a bit much also, if you are really trying to save money go with their value ram and only get 512Mb

That being said that looks like a good computer and if you can afford it you might as well go for the better components.
