So my pc I have been using for almost 4 years started having stability issues.

Come to find out the motherboard was going out and finally did.

I started to browse for parts for an entirely new build possibly using the new z97 chipset and one of those sexy new devils canyon and a gtx 900 series gpu!

After not having a pc for about a month I started to get an itch and just decided to cannibalize two systems I had to get a working machine.

The pc now has an AMD FX-4300 grouped with 16GB of cruical ballistax ram only running at 1600mhz,
using an r9 280x for graphics duty and and an old pny solid state for storage duties!

Only thing i purchased was a 2TB hard drive and cooler master's evo 212 cpu heatsink because it was utilizing the stock heatsink.

This setup is probably going to last me a while, hoping for a year at least maybe two!

Going to give the FX-4300 a modest OC to 4.0-4.2 Ghz, maybe more if I feel its needed!

I say all of this because you see more often than not people just completely buy all new parts for an entirely new build, wether its from necessity or just wanting the newer parts!
I would assume most people on here and other forums have multiple "old" PCs laying around and unused or not their "Main" rig.
Majority of people I feel can get away with doing something like this instead of just buying completely new machines and then having an pc sit in storage or trying to sell parts off or something!

Just wanted to hear what some people think about this, I am myself guilty of this in the pass just totally leaving the old PCs and having entirely new parts ordered and building from scratch!

I am actually very pleased and happy with this "Renew" build and it does feel new and definitely beefy enough for all my needs right now!

Holy wall of text batman.. Line breaks are a good thing, could you edit that to actually have some formatting?

Have zero idea what your asking, judging on the subject line alone it seems you posted this in the wrong section, brand new computer builds go in the General Hardware section (read the sticky!)
 
hey whatever works works. unless you need the computer to perform a very specific task (CAD, games, production, etc), you probably won't need any specialty hardware or peripherals.
