Okay, so the computer I built in the summer of 2001 is dying on me. I can save the hard drives, video card, sound card(sorta), and cd/dvd drives. So I need help finding good stuff for pretty cheap to replace the mobo, processor, and memory. The most stress this computer will get is Photoshop probably, although I am getting into photography so that might become a lot of stress. But anyway, I don't want to overclock or anything. My budget is an absolute MAX of $400, preferably around $300. Here's what I was thinking...

Processor: Probably an Athlon 64 3000+ or something similar if it happens to be on sale.

Motherboard: no overclocking planned, stability most important thing. Need: onboard LAN, USB 2.0, at least 3 PCI slots, 3 IDE slots. Want: onboard gigabit lan, SATA ports, and decent onboard audio

Memory: 512mb or 1gb of 3200, or faster if its cheap.

What I had priced out a few months ago when I thought my computer was dying the first time...(all from Newegg as of 2/1/05)

That was a few months ago, are there better/cheaper options now? Any help is appreciated!
 
In all honesty I'd save up a little more if you could. A gig of ram and a socket 939 cpu/mobo would definitely last longer and allow you to upgrade down the line. The socket 754 CPU's are discontinued I believe (save sempron?)

If you really can't wait I guess that stuff is your best bet, probably a lot better than what you have now.
