Hey guys,
So I am building my first computer and I have read around the forums to see about other parts but the PSU still stumps me. My best guess is that I need one at or around 800W. Here are the parts I have currently ordered/will be ordering.

Antec 900 ATX Mid Tower Case

Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHz CPU

ZALMAN CPU Cooler

Up to this point I understand what PSU i need. However I am either getting one Radeon 5870 or two Radeon 5750s. If I were to choose the 5870, I would be purchasing this one.

Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD 5870

However, if I chose the two 5750s, I would be buying two of these.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

850?! A quality 650 would be plenty. Check out Corsair, Antec TruePower, XFX and Seasonic. The Thermaltake Toughpower is a solid unit too.

Awesome! Thanks for the input guys. One more question, how many connectors will I need, and of which type? Like I said before...I am brand new at this so please be patient :p

Any quality PSU in the wattage range you'll be looking at will have the necessary connectors. It's not something you need to worry about.

Check the PSUs with modular connectors, that's less clutter inside the computer case.
If affordable, get a 80+ Silver or Gold graded PSU, the savings are minimal, but the power is more stable and the higher quality build of the PSU should make it more reliable and durable.

Agreed. A quality 650W from any of these brands mentioned should be fine.
