Hi, My name is Jordan and I'm new to hardforums.com. I have been out of the computer loop for a while now and am now starting to get back into it. I was wondering if you guys here can tell me if I did a decent job with this build or not. Right now it's not too late to make changes and I don't have a preference between AMD and Intel or ATI and Nvidia. I have a ~$300 limit for this build but I already have the case, hdd, monitor and all that. Here is a list of what I have in my cart now.

MSI K9VGM-V Socket AM2 $46.99

I want to be able to play games like Oblivion, F.E.A.R., BF2 and stuff like that. Tell me what you guys think. Hardware recommendations are great :D

I have a 21" Hitachi CRT . I would love to play these games at 1600x1200 but I don't know if the video card is powerful enough or not. I would play at 1280x1024 if I had to but the higher the better :D

Swap the PSU for teh X-Clio Goodpower 500w.

Also, a GPU suited for that resoloution in modern games will much your entire budget. :(

$300 is stretching it. Can you save a bit more cash or bump that budget up at all? I'd suggest at least saving/adding another $100 to the budget. That extra $100 could go a LONG way...
