Ok heres the problem I just upgraded my system so I could go to PCI-E. In doing so I had to replace my mobo and video card. After the switch I have been unable to play any games. Every time I play a game even games that take up virtually no resources it will lock up. I have tried everything I can think of. I ran memory and cpu tests, my hardware monitor shows all of the hardware running at acceptable temps. Ive flashed my BIOS to the most recent version. I've tried tons of different drivers. I thought it was the PSU I was using so I went out and bought an Antec 500w with 20a on the 12v. I am totally lost here. Does anyone have any ideas at all. My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Socket 754
ASUS K8N4-E Deluxe motherboard
1gb Corsair Value Select PC3200 (2x 512mb)
34gb Western Digital Raptor
ATI x1800xl 256mb PCI-E vpu
Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w PSU
Windows XP Pro SP2

Is there someone you could borrow another PCI-e graphics card from and swap it out with yours for testing purposes? Especially if you just got the card, it sounds like something may be wonky with it.

Where did you get your motherboard and video card from? A private seller? Try to see if your motherboard's okay. Motherboard seems to be wonky itself. :/ If not, probably video.

Unfortunatly no one I know has PCI-E, and I purchased the parts from newegg.

EDIT: Ok some new info. I ran 3DMark05 to try and push the system to see if it was overheating. Every time the system comes to the CPU tests it locks up in a matter of seconds. So it will only lock up when I either play a game, or run the CPU test in 3DMark.
Any ideas anyone im going crazy trying to figure this out.
