Looking to grab a new case and eyeing the Corsair 800D , considering either the normal or the open box (save 70$) but I'm not partial to it if someone can recommend a similar one for cheaper or same price range.

I'm considering going water cooling (either full, or H70) so bare that in mind.

I'd like a case that has very nice air flow, and I hear the 3 fans that come with the 800D are super quiet but do not pass much air, so if someone could recommend good 140mm fans (as many as the case can hold, and I'm not exactly sure) that would help out as well. I'm not partial to noise, but performance.

So to sum it up, looking for a good roomy case with great airflow and some fan recommendations. Considering the 800D and would like fan recommendations for that as well.

As for the case, I'm very picky about cases and I think the 800D isn't bad at all. It's pretty clean and has plenty of room with good cable management options. It could have done with a cleaner window and some rounded edges. But overall, not bad.
 
Alright, so is the 800d worth it or are there less expensive cases with better airflow?

Plenty. 800D air cooling isn't really class leading or anything. Lian Li PC-K62 and the Coolermaster CM 690 II advanced are two cases with great air cooling and features while being below 100$. If you need a full tower you can get a CM Haf 932 for 130$. If you want absolutely the best air cooling possible then get a Silverstone RV02 or a FT02.
 
How is the cable management in the rv02? I have a non modular psu (750 corsair)
 
All the cases I mentioned have plenty of cable management holes. Because of the 90 degree orientation of the RV02/ST02 you're going to have to do a little bit more work in the back to keep every thing neat though.
 
I like the 800D for it's big interior and ease of build. It also has fantastic cable routing, hot swap drive bays, and the cooling isn't that bad. I would put some Scythe GT's at the top of the case for added airflow. Redbeard recommends using the top fans as intake.

What would be the 'little bit more work' needed to keep everything neat? :D Thanks for the info.

It's generally considered that the space between the back panel and the mobo tray could have been a little bit bigger, just takes a bit of extra planning because it can get tight back there.

It's not really that big of an issue. It has cable management holes the same as any of the other cases I mentioned.
 
Thanks for the info, I'll do a bit more research before I bite the bullet, but the raven is lookin like its the one :)
