new case with dell mobo

maybe, what size case and mobo? i tryed a hp into a new case and the cpu was hitting the cd drive case.

it, SHOULD fit, but it depends on your mobo, take a look take some mesurments, if it fits but the stand off holes arent in the right spot, you can drill new ones and put a nut on the other side if need be.

mobo is approx 12x12

case now is standard dell 8200 (2 yrs old)

i'm looking into new cases for a number of reasons....dell box is ugly, dell box is heavy for its size, dell box only has two 5 1/2 bays, etc.

recommendations for a relatively cheap new case...i'd like a window and i'll use the dell psu until i upgrade mobo.

Why the dedication to the dell mobo? Just wait to upgrade the case when you have the dough for a mobo and save yourself the hassle. And moving proprietary mobos into new cases usually creates at least a small hassle. Either from dimensions, missing led pin headers etc. I'd wait. Mobo's aren't that expensive. A quality motherboard can be less expensive than a quality case.
If you want an inexpensive case with good features and a window Antec makes a couple. One of the Lanboy models is evn aluminum for under $100.

new mobo means new psu and all of a sudden a new case (50 bucks on the cheap side) turned into a multi hundred dollar upgrade (ie i'm poor)

dude diddy, we talked about this on aim, you have two options, either we open up you bitchass dell case and make it sweet.......a fun job while we are at school

or we start fresh, you prolly want a new mobo anyways cuz well you gonna have a better time with a new one then the dell one. you will be able to oc it, with that said you will prolly need a new fan or coolign device for the proc and when you doo all of that then you will need a new case and psu, you know my case, the beast that it is was only like 50 bucks and came with a psu. plus a mobo is gonna be pretty cheap to because your system is old that they are now the bargin boards. ill call you later this week and talk you about it
