I upgraded my case since my WC + 5870 wouldn't fit in my old one, here is a pic of my old case:

Original thread is here:

And here is the new PC, I didn't bother with a work log for this because time was limited, its also not quite finished, I'm still waiting for the moutning bracket to be fabricated, but due to time constraints I had to build it without the bracket.

I quite liked having the res on the back of my case last time, so decided to do the same this time as well, only with a proper mounting bracket and fill port, even so, this loop was a bitch to fill!

Update:

Here are pics of the rad mounting bracket installed and pics of the other side showing the Fieser rad.

Nice man!

What case is that? I'm looking to upgrade from my Antec 902. Its just too cramped for my wc, dual video cards, etc. Would I be able to fit 2 triple rads in the bottom? Probably not.

Thanks!

Its a Silverstone TJ07, pretty popular on [H]...

Unless you moved the PSU to somewhere else you wouldn't be able to get 2 triples in there, a douple and a triple is not that easy to work with but doable.

You could always put the second triple somewhere else though, the possibilities are almost endless with this case, I almost went for 3 rads but it is impossible to find fan grills here in NZ so gave up and went for 2.

I was trying to modify the case hardware as little as possible, the only drilling I did was to drill a hole in the base where the USB attachment is so I could put an inverted water pump in there.

What made you choose this case over the 800D? The 800D has more room and is cheaper.

Just curious. Thanks!

In terms of function I'd guess he chose the tj07 over the 800d because without modification the bottom section of the 800d isn't tall enough to accommodate a radiator sitting sideways.

to be honest I never even considered getting another case, I bought a TJ07 a while back to put my server in, it was the only case I could find that would accomodate more than 10 hard drives easily (with a couple of 3 to 4 converters it can handle 14), and so I was already familiar with the layout and space available, so had a plan in my head of how it would go together.

I had seen the 800D around and during my quest to get a TJ07, sales people suggested to get the 800D instead but I really don't like the asthetics of the 800D, I think the TJ07 is far more elegant.

As far as cable management goes, I can't deny that the 800D is superiour in that sense, but as I said, I think the TJ07 is better looking.

I probably will refine it a little later, so much can be done with this case, its just a pity that I live in New Zealand as enthusiast computer hardware is quite difficult to source without ordering from abroad.

Just taking a look at the 800D now, I don't think it has more room, I'd say they are pretty close, just take a look at how the PSU is mounted in the TJ07, and the backing plate allows for 2 power supplies.

I can get 3 rads inside the TJ07 without heavy modification (2 with just one hole drilled for tubing) I seriously doubt you could do that with the 800D.

You can clearly see why the 800D is a cheaper case, it actually looks cheaper.

Recieved my radiator mounting bracket which as lined up the fans with the grills on the case and my temps dropped by 6-8C!

Looking nice man. Are you considering changing out any of the case for MurderMod parts (when they become available again)? I really like the TJ07's. Good choice! :D

Just wondering, why the Res outside the system? Looks like you have ample room inside the case up-top.
