New Case for i7 Build

Alright so I know many of you have seen alot of these threads floating around, but I still appreciate your time, input and suggestions regarding my case selection.

The main features that I am looking for are:
1) Wire Management
2) Silent
3) Good Air Cooling
4) Future expandability

I do not have my heart set on any specific design (full tower, or mid tower) but I can say that I am not a huge fan of cases with Doors. I am currently coming from a TJ09 which I like (the size was good), but I would like to have a new chassis for this build, and preferably something with better wire management.

Here is what I have narrowed it down to thus far
Lian Li PC-V1010
Lian Li PC-V2010
Lian Li PC-V1000Z
Silverstone TJ07
(Not sure about this one) Lian Li TYR-PCX500

Any suggestions would be appreciated, or if I have missed anything, let me know.

All the Lian Li cases you listed are all good choices. As far as the Silverstone I would choose the TJ09 instead :)
 
COOLER MASTER HAF932....

Excellent cooling, silent fans, and cable management!!!!!
 
i used the v1010 for my new i7 build and i'm very pleased with it. it has all of the features you're looking for... the only problem is that there isn't much room behind the motherboard tray to route cables.

other random thoughts about the case:
- the power LED is ridiculously bright
- the 5.25" bay covers aren't very secure
- if you have a large after market heatsink & fan you're probably going to have to install it inside of the case. i have a thermalright ultra-120 and the motherboard tray wouldn't go back into place with it installed.
- i removed one of the hard drive cages to make more room for my corsair 1000 watt power supply.
 
I seem to be leaning more towards full towers i think. Like the TJ07 or PC-V2010. ANy input on this? Are these things too big, for someone who is primarily going for Air Cooling? The future expandability towards water is a bonus tho.
 
I highly suggest looking into the coolermaster HAF932. It's pretty darn cheap, and its a fantastic case. I've never had one I've liked more in the past. I have a triple rad mounted on the top and 2 230mm fans, one on the side one on the front, plenty of space, and well built.

just a guess here but it seems the OP is leaning towards a cleaner looking case. the HAF screams gamer case while Silverstone and Lian-Li look are all class, IMO.
 
So I have been doing alot of researching and I think I have narrowed my original selection down to just 2. Although one of my 2 choices wasnt in the original list....

Here are the leading 2 Contenders. (Please feel free to chime in yet again regarding these ones)

Silverstone TJ07 - Something just keeps bringing me back to this case. I know its immensely popular amoung water coolers (which is great, if I choose to go there one day). I think its ease to dis-assemble and work on, are what keep it amoung the top selections.

Lian Li PC-A70 - This case just seems like an all round solid performer. Its simplistic design, clean lines, and known quality make it a top contender. I have not yet owned a Lian Li, so that ranks high aswell.

Both seem like good options, the LiLi can be had for about $100 less than the TJ07, so that certainly makes it more apealing.
Is there anything that I should know about these selections, or does anyone have any feedback.

Trust me they sell. Charles' workmanship is un matched. I suppose they are only for the extreme enthusiast, but there is always a market for people who want the best.

Thats like asking "Do people really buy porsches or lambroghinis???" Not everyone can afford one, but they do SELL!

TJ07 is notably behind in silence aspect.
While A70 lacks 71's direct noise escape path blocking door it still has other features including soft HDD mounting while TJ07 relies entirely on hard metal to metal mounting surely making HDDs noisy. With hard mounting HDDs cause lot of background hum even in heavy&damped steel cases and even single small module in contact with HDD is enough for making HDD noisy. (Stacker T01 has later problem)
Probably it's also causing effect found by SPCR: when left to run for some time side panels started rattling against horizontal divider between chambers.
Mass damping helps to vibrations of panels but vibrations from direct contact are very hard to dampen so while A7x's side panels can also vibrate easily damping is much more effective because there aren't strong direct vibration sources.
(recommend doing at least basic mass damping to side panels in any case)

Considering wire management neither of these cases have been designed for that.
Single chamber design should be lot easier for doing that because you can set cables more freely instead of being forced to route them through predetermined holes between chambers and with some work A7x definitely has nothing to shame in that:

Lian Li is a great choice, the only consideration is the price, at over $200 it is costing more than the CPUs we put into them. i'd say go for it if you have the money you won't be disappointed but i wouldn't break the bank for one.
 
If I had the money I would have picked up the PC-X500 in a heatbeat (actually its big brother the PC-X2000), its so damn sexy.

My PC-A05B gets the job done for now...
 
have you seen the thermaltake spedo? I was just checking it out yesterday... looks pretty nice. Just another idea. The TJ09 is awesome also... so are the lili cases.

edit: what I liked most about it was the removable hard drive bays and it seemed to have excellent air flow... but I dunno.. reviews on it are very mixed.
 
Lancool K7-B. I built a q9550 system with it and I like it. I think you need to tell us more about your build...though.

The HAF is a great case, IMHO but I don't like the looks. My thinking nowadays has gone 180 with regards to price. In the old days I thought get a nice case cause you can use it mutiple generations. But sadly case is one of the FIRST things I want to change with my builds.

I keep my PC 3 or so years at least and I always find I want to upgrade cases. So now I favor under $100 dollar cases which can still be quite good. I think the CM690 is hard to beat design wise, but my K7-B has a pretty good design and looks better.

I agree that many people have more money than they know what to do with, but I don't really like the analogy. When you buy a high end car, you are getting a way better motor, interior, everything than when you buy a Kia. What is this case offering that makes it at least 5x that of other very decent cases?

Agreed. Some people even have issues with a $300 dollar case instead of a $80 dollar one.
 
I have the HAF932 and I love it for its cooling capacity. The HAF932's looks however are meh in my opinion though, and it is dust magnet. A good cleaning at least every month or so is a must for this case. It's also quite noisy if you end up replacing the stock fans that come with it. Now I'm looking to get a TJ07 for my next build.
 
I'm looking to replace my Lian Li PC-60 case. The side panel is starting to vibrate a bit and it's driving me bananas. Overall the case is really nice. I'm starting to like case with a lockable door and without side window side panel.
