(hey all, glad to finally be a part of the [H] community!)

so i have been looking around for the past few days and i've come to a fork in the road for where i should spend my money. fo i get a 6600GT or a 6800LE? they both have 8 pipes but the LE has more memory bandwidth (due to a 256 bus) and one more vertex unit. now being as i'm a poor college student, is the extra bandwidth and vertex unit really worth the extra $35? i know it may not seem like much money, but when you're as poor as i am, every penny counts. any suggestions? thanks.

no,.. i think the 6600gt is faster than the 8 piped LE.....it goes....6800NU>6600gt>6800le

It may have more bandwidth, but the 6800LE is clocked slower: 320/350 core/memory vs. 500/500 on the 6600GT. I'd buy the 6600GT, I'm pretty sure it's faster, it overclocks well, and it's definitely cheaper. One thing to add is that the AGP versions seem to be $20-30 more expensive (and harder to find) than the PCI-e version.
