let me start off with saying that I dont intend for this thread to get flamed or people screaming at eachother, I just want some help picking out a new video card for my newly built rig.

Having said that, I currently have a geforce4 ti4200 with 8agp and im very happy with it and its performing in halo, counter-strike and jedi academy etc. However I know with Hlaf-Life2 right around the corner (I hope) the geforce4 will not cut the cheese. I am not sure what to go with. I have heard that ATI builds solid gaming cards, and i was looking at 9800pro or a 9600XT. But I have yet too see what the major difference between nvidia and ati is, i like both (only trying one however I cant really support half of my statement). I looked at the 5700 ultra I believe it was for a reasonable price.

My price range is limited to about 200 dollars. I want to keep this card for a good 3 years and still be able to run current games with smooth, fast play. Some help would really be looked upon. (I shop at newegg.com a lot - awesome service and electronics)

Please help me. Thanks -Blake

How much are the reguar 6800s? The the last gen geforce cards suck ass so I dont recomendl getting one. Save your money and get a 6800 GT.
