new cable problem to me

ok i had dsl up till sunday, i ran it through my linksys wrt54g v.3 router to my computer and operated with no problems. on monday i switched to roadrunner after the stupid guy who couldnt find my ethernet port installed it i tried to run it through my outer. ok it wouldnt connect but it connected without the router. ok so i called linksys he walked me through the steps and my router was configured right ah had the correct ip adress yet i still cannot conect to th internet. the guy tells me it is my omputer not allowing it to connect.

what could the problem be it was working less that 24 hours ago with dsl in fact i used it that morning before i left for work. please help me before i throw this router out the door.

what ip does it have? Also, make sure you power cycle from the wall out. First the modem and so forth. The modems will keep a record of the last mac attatched, and not release unless you power cycle.
