I'm upgrading a few parts and haven't really been paying much attention to todays hardware, so if I could get some suggestions/crits it would be greatly appreciated :)

I suggest going dual core. It's cheaper and will last you longer.
(I'm going dual core in a few days)
 
i was going to go that route, (4800) but i read a thread about having to disable one of the cores to get some games to run properly. I really don't want to have to worry about that.

D3v, yeah thats what i was talking about. Thanks for the link. This is going to be mostly for gaming. I do do some work w/Lightwave, but gaming is more of a priority :D So with that in mind, would it be better to just stick w/the fx?
 
When they start making games that take advantage of dual core CPUs, single core processors wont be able to keep up.
And the fx-57 is so damn expensive :eek:

nVidia is already working on dual core support in there drivers.
