I'm new to these forums so first of all hello,
Now I'm thinking about building an iMac style desktop computer for my product design final year project at uni. Basically an all in one desktop computer similar to the ones sony/apple do.
Thinking of getting a piece of aluminium and just folding it to give the base, screen area, and then back of the case as well. But its all still in the design process, got some quite cool ideas.
The thing is I need to find somewhere to get the parts from, im looking for flat components, so kind of laptop style motherboard/graphics card.
Ive been thinking, should i go for laptop parts? I'd like to be able to build quite a powerful computer and im going to have a really good think about cooling etc because im aiming this at the gaming market.
Any feedback about the idea, and any help as to where to get parts from would be a great help.
I've put together my last 2 computers but never actually built the case, and used custom parts so quite excited about the build.
I'll probably making a work log of it when i start so will be sure to post my progress of the project.
Cheers,
Joey
