Hello all, I appreciate any and all input on this topic, which I know has been brought up a million times, but here we go with a million-and-one.

My current rig is as follows:

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 220x9.5 = 2090
DFI LanParty UltraB
TT Bigwater SE
3x256 Kingston HyperX PC 3500 DDR
ATI 9800SE w/ soft modded Omega drivers to 9800XT
SharkTank Case
1 36GB Raptor

I'll admit, there was a time when I was pretty up w/ what was going on in the OC world, and obviously have kind of fell behind when the A64 line came along, because first, it was a little expensive to start with, and second, time constraints.

I do love to OC, and AM NOT a gamer at all. I love just to get as much as I possible can out of any possible configuration I have had, and would like to do so with my next build as well. No, there is nothing specific that I would like to do, other than maybe a little video encoding, but truly, I just love messing with settings, and getting the most out of it that I can.

Anyway, I would like to replace all components stated above, except for the video card, (although, I can make an exception to this, if my options will be limited because of that), the case, and would like to hang on to the cooling system, although, I don't think that it will be very effective with the new setup, and if I have to go with the latest and greatest air cooling that's fine, because my knowledge on watercooled systems is very minimal, hence the reason I bought the Bigwater system in the first place, easy to install.

So, my main concerns are the board and CPU, which after extensive research, it seems to be that there is a huge argument over which is the better OC'ing processor, either the Opty's or the X2's. I am open to either, but most importantly, I want bang for the buck, along with future longevity, which is where the line seems to blur a little bit. As far as the board, it seems the UltraD and the A8N32 are generally the 2 most mentioned boards by far, although I have lookedd at the ASRock board and the A8N board, too.

The one thing that i'm not real clear on, is the Ram. I would like to know a general consensus of what is the BEST OC'ing RAM out there right now.I would like to move on from my HyperX, it seems to hit the wall at about 220FSB, no matter what I do.

My budget is 1k-1500.00 on the high end.

Appreciate all feedback in advance, and patience as well.
