Hi everyone! This will be my 3rd build, my last one being a E6750, some 4-5 years ago... Time to upgrade i guess

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming (Mostly Paradox Int. games, Matrix Games, World of tanks, some RPGs... & Silent Hunter III, still :D); Web browsing, Movie watching, office apps. (usual stuff)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Around 800-1000

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Canada

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, HDDs, OS

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
MSI Cyclone gtx 460, which i'll eventually upgrade when i feel like it
optical dvd drive
Antec P182
a Corsair A50 HSF
I also have a Sondigo Inferno Sound card; i'm not sure it is worth keeping or if i should just stick with onboard sound
Monitor, keyborad & mouse

6) Will you be overclocking?
Maybe A little... nothing hardcore

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1920*1080, 24" LG Flatron W2442PA

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Now

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
No RAID, no Crossfire/SLI
USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbs, why not!
Lots of features on Mobos i don't even know what they do (like UEFI)
BUT, i never liked buying very cheap mobos. I'm looking for reliability over features when possible. Enlight me if I should be aware of other important features I should consider.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No, I will get win7 64

I went the Ivy Bridge route because there was very little difference in price between that and a Z68/2500K build

Here is what I've come up with
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 227.79

Total 973.41 (before taxes & shipping)

Tell me what you think
Have a good day everyone

Thanks in advance

Your parts list looks fine. Some people may nitpick over the inclusion of the Seagate Barracuda HDD, but it's perfectly fine for a secondary/storage drive.

Is your optical drive SATA or IDE?

Try the onboard sound out before you resort to the sound card.

About the HDD, I went with the lowest price i could find at the moment

My optical drive is SATA

I personally would get a smaller SSD drive and say yourself some cash if you can step down to a smaller drive. I would also agree with the OP and try the on-board sound first.

I know that 256G ssd is a bit overkill. But i had one of these "what the hell" moment. And it fits within budget.
