I've been saving up for a while and I wanna go somewhat all out on a new gaming rig. Thought it best if I check with some folks in the 'know' before I go ahead and order it.
(Note: I'm in the UK, So prices are a bit more expensive over here I think..)

Questions)
1) I'm not much of an audiophile, How much noticeable difference would I see with the SoundCard as opposed to onboard?
2) I'm kinda going on scraps of info on the Motherboard.. I won't be doing much overclocking (maybe a little in the future to give it a 'pep-up', but not too much) Is there any other better choices?
3) Any cases for similar price that maybe have better airflow or.. better looks? It was kinda the first thing I seen..

1) with those specs, you really wont notice much difference in gaming performance between a dedicated soundcard or onboard. You'll lose about 10fps at most with onboard (worst case scenario). stick with onboard, and if you find yourself not liking it, get a soundcard.

2) the ds4 is a great midrange board.

3) thats a great case, but i, personally, dont like the feel of it. i like the cm stacker better, but it'll cost a bit more. if you can, check out that case at a local store to see if you like it. as far as looks go, i think the p180 looks great, hehe, but i just dont like doors on my cases. cases are really personal preference, so just shop around. another popular case is the thermaltake armor series.

Another thing, I wouldnt recommend a Maxtor drive, but thats just me (all of my maxtors have needed to be RMA'd; all 15 of them  ).

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a look around for other cases =)

As for the maxtor drive, Its basically for Windows and Apps only. Ive been reading up on drive speeds etc and apparantly it gives a noticeable boost not having Games and OS reading off the same drive, Also I couldn't quite justify the price of a Raptor drive..

I should expand, a sound card isn't for performance increase any more. It's for sound quality. There was a noticeable increase between my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and my X-Fi XM.

Right... but I still wouldn't buy a maxtor, lol. Seagates have 5yr warranty, WDs have 3yr warranty, and Maxtors have 1yr warranty. If a company only warrants its product for 1yr, while its competitors offer much more, that tells me they have less confidence in the quality of their own product.

For 4 bux more, you could get the seagate instead:
