So, I am getting ready to build a new Core i7 machine. I am going to be getting a Gulftown processor to power it, which is going to be released in next month. Basically I would like to go ahead and starting order the pieces that I can get now. I have heard that Gulftown is not going to require new boards and the X58 chipset will handle it. However, I remember when I built my Q6600 machine and the motherboard was supposed to be able to handle Yorkfield, but in the end 680i wasn't able to. I am currently looking at the ASUS P6T board with the X58 chipset, so do you guys think I should just wait until the official release of Gulftown or go ahead and order this? I am certainly going to start getting the RAM, case, hard drive, and power supply. As for the graphics card, I am going to wait until the GTX 480 is launched before I choose.
