I just finished building my new rig, its a mix of some decent and crappy hardware due to my budget, all brand new. No matter what I do, the thing will not turn on! the only thing that happens is the LED on the motherboard switching on, and also the LAN LED when I flip the switch on the PSU. I have tried using bare minimum hardware, my jumper settings are correct, I have tried using different electrical sockets. no fans spin, no signal to monitor. the voltage LEDs on the back of my PSU do not light up either

coolermaster CM stacker 830
ASUS m2n32 sli deluxe socket AM2
athlon 64 x2 4200+

OCZ powerstream 520W PSU
1 gig crosair value ram

maxtor 120 gig SATA
(these last few are my el-cheapo components which i hope to be upgrading once my next paycheck comes :( )

I am out of ideas here. Help me, [H]ardpeople!

You are lucky you even got it started in the first place!!

checked mobo.... backplate is clear, none of the capacitors are gettin their freak on.

I think I might have spare a 24 pin PSU somewhere around here......

can i test the PSU by shorting out the two pins on the mobo connector?

update!

Looks like the PSU was dead on arrival. Tried another one i had kicking around and everything functioned, so i went out today and exchanged the dead OCZ for an enermax liberty :D
