I just installed a Sapphire 6950 Dirt3 in my build and started playing BF3.

My max temps in GPU-z get up to 76*C on the GPU which seems pretty high.
72*C on the CPU.

After playing for a while something will start to buzz intermittently.

Im not sure if it's a warning on the mobo or the GPU.

Had buzzing on my Gigabyte motherboard, searched on google, found out that others eliminated the buzzing noise by turning off the power features in the bios (the ones that reduce clock speed, etc. sorry I don't remember their names). Worth a try for ya.
 
I had bought the HD 6990, the first one I got was making a buzzing noise so I returned it. Had something to do with the chokes I was told. New one didn't make the buzzing anymore.

Temps in the 70's are decent. My 6990 pushes into the 90's.
 
I'll look at my mobo and see if there are any settings that I need to change.

The CPU and GPU still seem high to me. Especially after looking at other people's temps. I didn't think my case was that bad.... I even have the 212+ installed.
 
that's funny...my gigabyte board makes a buzzing sound, too. determined it was because of a fan though.
 
It's not a high pitch whine. It sounds like the pico buzzer/alarm attached to the motherboard.


My CPU temps really shouldn't be that high, should they?
 
72*C is high for a 212+, are you sure it's installed correctly? That case isn't the best in terms of cooling/air circulation, but even with a 212+ it should be in the 60s. What's your room/ambient temps?
 
Room is 20*C.
I'm almost positive I installed it correctly. Used G751 Shin-Etsu paste.
I guess I can try it again. Not sure what I would do differently though.

Idle temps are around 40. Something is definitely wrong.
 
It's not OC'd is it? My 870 w/ 212+ idles in the low 30s range, sometimes even in the high 20s. Under load, it seldom sees anything over 55*C. I think the only time it's got that high was when I was stressing both the CPU AND GPU, with the door closed so the ambient temps were ~10*C higher than normal and the temps got in the low 60s. GPU same ordeal, but it usually stays in the mid/high 60s with a high of low 70s.
 
also, what are you using to get the cpu temps? use coretemp or realtemp.
