thanks for any help.

I think most people will tell you to ditch the X850XT in favor of a 7800GT for a few reasons:

1. Its cheaper
2. Its faster in most things
3. You got a SLI mobo, why not set yourself up for SLI in the future by getting an NVidia card?

Above is a link to an article with benchmarks that sow a 7800GT and an X850XT.

wow, sweet article. i'll might have to ditch the x850xt after reading that. who makes a good 7800GT?

eVGA or BFG are both the best GPU manufacturers period, though eVGA tends to be cheaper. Also, you're going to want more than 512 of RAM. Get at least a gig of this, but if you have the extra cash, get these.

Edit: Dump the Raptor. Way too much money for very little space and no noticable performance gain. Get a 250 gig Maxtor with 16MB of cache from ZZF instead.

i was buying two of those i have up there. i'll probably buy a single stick of 1gb and then add another at a later time. i didn't mention it earlier, but i plan on spending around $1300, but i might spend more.

Your list looks good.
