Specs:
AMD Phenom II X2 550
ECS A790GXM-AD3 Mobo
G.skill 2X2gb DDR3 10666
PowerColor 4850 using Cat 9.5
CoolerMaster eXtreme Power plus RS-500-PCAR-A3 500W

Problem:
Once pulling up the start menu and multiple times on the WOW loading screen the computer will just hard crash the entire system. Mouse cursor does not move anymore and cannot alt tab or anything which results me to do a hard shut down. This is all with a fresh new install of Vista x64 SP1 and installing SP2 after a windows update. All drivers were installed as well.

What I think is wrong:
There is a pci wireless g card in the system that does not have any vista drivers on the manufacturers website, however windows update found drivers but the model number and manufacturer doesn't sound the same (Ralink?? instead of Airlink101).

Another hiccup that occurred is when I updated the bios, so windows can display the new cpu correctly, the flashing of the bios went find and said completed but when i proceeded to shut down the computer it was on the shutting down screen for a good 10 mins and BSOD'ed. However the bios does say it is updated and Windows now displays my cpu correctly instead of unknown.

What I am doing next:

I am not sure what to do next, but I am going to try to reinstall vista x64 and remove the pci wireless card. Do you guys think I should reflash the bios again? Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance :D

EDIT: Played a good 30 mins of crysis on very high 1680x1050, ran a quick prime95 and a furmark benchmark with 8xAA and it ran everything butter smooth

No :( I chose it off Newegg with the rest of my build. Any ideas besides replacing the board? I only want to buy other parts as a last resort.

Try it with one stick of RAM.
Run memtest on each stick, individually, for several passes and report back results.
Try another PSU.
Run Prime95 SmallFFTs to stress the CPU for several hours.
Run Furmark to stress your GPU for several hours.
Though, it sounds like a Software problem, hehe. Make sure you update all your drivers. Pull out that WiFi card.
