is EVGA the way to go?
any comments/suggestions/critique would be greatly appreciated

Evga is def the way to go for video cards.

I would go with seagate HDD's over WD, just seem to be a little faster and more reliable IMHO

Overall nice build!

P182 has more room behind the mobo (wire management)
other poster here is buying it with MIR for 70, ask him where he got it. (poster=dalex)

eVGA if you plan to keep it for ever
XFX if you want to sell it.

everyone else has other perks, but these two for those.

If your not dead set on the Antec case, I would recommend the Cooler Master RC690. It got a section behind the mobo tray so you manage the wires and make it looks neat. Also has spots for 7x120mm fans and one 1x80mm fan behind the mobo tray where the CPU would be. Its got enough openings through grates for well ventilation. Also if your going to game and not do any photo/video editing you might be better off with a E8400 if you can get one. But with Q6600 so cheap, it's totally up to you.

I got it (just ordered it) at Microcenter. Here's a link:
http://microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0257446

The rebate expires on the 30th (in 2 days) and another Hard member (that sounds awful :p ) warned me about the date on the invoice being the determining factor, not the actual date you order it, and that invoices are typically not printed until the item ships, so I may not be able to get it. Having said that, even without the rebate, it's still cheaper at microcenter than anywhere I've looked.

Our builds have some apparent similarities. I decided to go with the EVGA GTS as well as I might take advantage of the 90 day stepup program and get the 9800gx2 when (if) the price drops. I'll be gaming on a 24" at 1920x1200 though, so it makes sense for me, while I think you'll be more than fine with the GTS.

Good luck!

Looks good. I agree with Megalomaniac as to which brand vidcard to go with.

you might be able to use the sales confirmation for the MIR, but i dont know, i never tried.
so this is just fair warning so you dont get surprised if it doesnt work and then go huffing and puffing.

ps another Hard member lol

I just built a few systems off of the P182 and P180 cases, and they both have the same internal wire management space. The P180 was revised, a while ago, to incorporate such wire management. The P180B I got for my uncle back in June'07 already had the revisions.
