i just sold the comp with the specs below for 1400$ i did a lot of research around here when i built this not too long ago, has much changed? im building another one and i have been reading about am2 and the proc intel finally beats amd on something ect ect, im gonna be butally honest and say the reason i dont want to go intel is because #1 im a gamer and amd's dominated this market for a while #2 AMD would be like buying spy glass's compaired to oakleys both are good AMD just has a little better reputation of lux man!!! so i want to stick to the AMD route, is the DFI NF4/opteron 165 still my best bet for the price range im working with ive been reading about how the X2's have dropped in price making them compairable to my 165, i also heard the new 165's havnt been overclocking as much as the old ones? i need everything from monitor to keyboard, and i have a 7800GT already. what you guys think? i want a pretty big monitor but im not gonna spend over 300 on one. i guess i posted this here cause the last 4 comps ive built had DFI AMD boards in them. lol

im thinking the following
throw another 7800gt (maybe might just get a bigger LCD)
proc unknown at time 165 or x2 or new amd?
mobo DFI - ?
PowerSupply ocz fortron sparkle ect... ? any specific ?
memory - ddr2 worth diving into yet? any new badass cheap stuff?hehe
i want a TV tuner card also, w/ remote
dvd burner of course
thinking a lian li case (pc65) liked a old comp i had with it.
im a gamer, i play wow and cs-s and cs 1.6 oblivion ect. whats a good LCD monitor?

all help greatly appriciated!

ocz powerstream 520

Why did you sell that computer for $1400 just to build another one like it? You couldn't build that same one again for 1400 I don't think, forgive me if I am wrong. I believe you SHOULD go the Intel route, right now anyways, for a better performance in games and other apps. Don't get me wrong, I too love AMD, but Intles new chip kicks everything AMD is throwing at it. AN overclocked e6400 can beat a FX-62!! Come on!! THat is crazy.

ive sold over 40 comps dood, i think i know how to make a little money onem i was just looking for some tech advise about the hardware/brands im asking about!!! likei i said i have always dogged intel and i look at them as a cheaper company and so do a lot of people who arent exactly up on times.... get real man both procs are screaming fast and its going to have windows xp on it so it wont even be using 64 bit for a wwwhillle! with an am2 i should be fine especially if i go two 7800 gt's....
i took the 7800 GT and put in a 6200 256.
sooo..

it takes me no more then 3-5 hours to cut in a window and paint a case, i even unrivit the cases and paint the parts individually so it looks really professional. my beautiful cases usually sell them not the actual badass parts inem. logically to the customers i have sold these too they dont have any idea about overclocking lol and all my comps i build i use DFI and AMD and get mad overclocks. but i know when they go to get that computer worked on by a guy the guys gonna go damn you got a nice setup there... lol :p every build i sell my own computer and upgrade with the sale price. its like trading your truck in for a new truck every few months. for freee!
