New Blocks = No PPD

My farm is almost literally producing half what it used to thanks to the new blocks. I'm glad at the same time that it is hopefully producing better results for them. I have no money for more "D" at the moment so I'll just have to go along as fast as I can, hoping that they can find a cure for Alzheimer's so my grandma might be able to remember my name again. The other issue I had was 2 of my 4 SMPs decided to stop at FINISHED UNIT causing one to miss it's deadline and be for nothing. They REALLY need to fix the SMP client. It sucks to lose work just because it didn't upload like it was supposed to.

I know the new workunits is giving less PPD but at least, we also know that they are the real deal and Vijay put a lot of hope on this (this explain why they are having issues due to the fact they pushed too quickly and too hard). More shaders = smaller ppd loss so the better way is to aim for cards with a higher amount of shaders like a 9800GT or better instead of the 8800GS/9600GSO but for the value the latter is still hard to beat.

About the SMP, try to get 6.23 since this will fix the isse you are having. You can search around here for the links or just ask ;)

stem cell research is the only thing that will cure Alzheimer's but since its illegal in the US.. were pretty much screwed.. once obama takes over it will start again..
 
Yeah, the new units are giving me like, 2800ppd compared to 4700ppd. Shit really sucks...

Stem cell research will commence again in the US if it hasn't already. Foreign medical research has demonstrated that we don't need to utilize fetal stem cells to produce viable treatments for all sorts of diseases. Once this has been refined and the truth about not requiring controversial sources for stem cells demonstrated further, it will become a booming area for research. The Democrats having won the last election should expedite the process but I believe it would eventually have happened anyway. The potential gains are just too enormous to ignore.

friggin republicans banned stem cell research because they had to use aborted fetuses for the stem cells.. now they found a way to recreate stem cells without needing the source.. i know theres still some countries that allow stem cell research..

mine is anywhere from 3800 to 5000.. but they do a pretty good job at mixing it up.. very rarely do you get 2 low PPD WU's in a row..

Yeah, brother MrBooMY, I hope they find a cure for Alzheimers also and I hope your grandma is cool until they do :D

On the pernts for the new GPU2 WU's. I look at it this way, I'm loosing valuable pernts, but so's everybody else.and it all comes out at the end (err.., wash or something along those lines) . Thanks to the members with channels for up to date folding info (like bro Xilikon) we know the new GPU2 WU's are the "real deal" As long as I don't get any WinSMP EUE flashbacks I can live with less pernts. I read where the GPU cards had to be downclocked a little and the new WU's ran hotter. :confused: (so far, the new GPU2 WU's ain't bothered me a wit ;))

You know the old sayings "misery loves company" and "what goes around, comes around" So in actuallity, we're all in the same boat and it's a "sink or swim deal" with the pernts. Just thank God most of use don't have a deliberating disease and we're able to help find a cure for some really fu*ked up diseases. :rolleyes:

Please keep on keepin' on and we'll all help Stanford find a cure for not only Alzheimers, but numerous other devastating diseases caused by misfolds in protein ;)
