NEW BIRTHDAY CARD????

Please do not SHOUT in thread titles. You just piss off the mod who has to edit it.

i just looked up the G25 and thats wayyyy to expencive , im only gonna use it for GRID so im trying to spend like 50-100

ok just for a cheap wheel find a refurb logitech momo wheel on ebay or something. no reason to get it new if your on a budget, look at used ones too

qft.

If you are only going to play GRiD, G25 is totally NOT needed, Nice, but not needed. For example why get 3 pedals, when grid uses only brake and gas?

Just make sure that 1 month later you are not going to play Race 07 or GTR2 or LFS. For those, yes a g25 would be great.

But even then, get a decent video card 1st. +1 on the 4850.

Get an hd 4850. BTW, why do you have a gpu psu, the 650w psu should run your system with any single video card just fine.

back in the day when i bought my 1900gt i had a 500W with 19A on a single rail, idk just to be safe i guess
is the 4850&then 4870 the same phyisical card just lowerd clocks? is it worth the extra $75 or so
how's the overclocks on the 4850 cuz i love overclocking

I hear hallmark makes card shopping easy by having them organized on shelves for you to compare.

Grid is lots of fun, check out iracing.com also, that just went live/public this week. I am hooked. Its a sim but so far very good. Like mentioned earlier if you plan on playing any sims, rfactor, race 07, gtr etc then save up for a G25.. very nice wheel for the money. Else a momo will do just fine if you plan on playing arcade racers only.

I would not know about racing wheel; but HD4850 will fit you perfectly.

The 4850 will do anything you want on a 19" CRT and then some, that screen will be the "bottleneck".

If you want anything faster, upgrade that screen first.

4850 might even be overkill for a 19", even a 8800GT should be plentiful for that, especially if youre upgradig from a 1900GT,

yeah, but in a year or two that 4850 will still be playing stuff at slightly lower settings when the 8800gt might be sweating.

HD4870 for what you need would be a waste of money over the HD 4850. Also you game at 1600x1200 right?

Yes im playing at 1600X1200
but i want to be able to run crysis at the res. with lots of AA

lol are u serouis.... your saying i can max out crysis on a 8800gt lol looks like someone needs to do some studying

I agree that 4850 is not an overkill at 1280*1024.
Crank up AA and AF if FPS is too high!

I got the BFG GTX 280 OC for my birthday.
The performance is very good but, unfortunately, it is very noisy.
I am really annoy by the hissing sound it makes and I am seriously considering trading it for a 4870 1GB.
