well i got a new bfg 6800gt oc today, got if for 276 with my employee acomidations.

so far i have it overclocked to 415mhz core and 1120 on the memory, now i know the stock retail bfg dual fan heatsinks are known not to be great performers.

would i benefit by going with a artic cooling silencer 5 in the oc defartment, and is this a decent OC for this stock card?

heheh
where do you work at ? and did you have to wait for the discount to be applied?

overclockability is not soley determined by cooling. but it does play a part. if you're comfortable with removing your hsf on the card, i'd recommend it. i myself have a bfg 6800gt and i did not like all that extra heat in my case, so i got a koolance watercooling case for my computer. temps are now better and there is very little ambient heat in my case. since the nv silencer is an exhaust type, i'm sure it'll help keep all of your other components alive much longer.
