Hi H crew,

I just bought a Sony STR-DH520 AV receiver. When I switch between my inputs I see the 1920x1080/60p. I think the 60p label is new, I kind of notice some lag during fast moving action on TV and Movies. Before I had my HD cable box, ps3, desktop through hdmi directly hooked to the TV.

Is this normal? Is this something that can be configured on the receiver?

This is my first AV receiver.

Any advice appreciated.

Ryan

You might need to enable lip sync correction or manually input a per-input delay on the audio.

The audio is perfect, I have a plasma with a 600hz subfield drive so I suspect the receiver doing some processing or something that is slowing it down slightly. I have been reading about pass through and have gone through the menus on the receiver to see if this would help by turning it on/off. There is also an auto setting not sure what that would do. Is there a way to disable the processing on the receiver or something to look for?

Cheers,

Ryan

Should in theory do nothing to the video. Does the receiver have any 3d options? Maybe rerun the setup and try different settings.

Do you do any calibrations with sound anything? I would check to see if theres a 24p setup on the receiver. Cuz most movies are in 24p so at 60p its possible every few seconds the picture can stutter.

With the 600hz plasma you need to set the HDMI pass-thorugh to ON. All I can find in your user's manual is pass-through in standby mode. You don't want your AVR to do any video processing if you have a decent TV... Make sure you have disabled all of the Bravia Sync functions if possible.
