So, after finding a bit of a problem with the onboard sound on my computer (AC-97, 8 channel, but the back-panel onboard port is dead for the L/R stereo front), and having generally crappy speakers, I've been highly considering getting a new sound card and speakers. I've been eyeing the Logitech Z-5500's for a 7.1 setup, and I've heard a lot of good things about the Mystique and Montego DDL cards. What would be the audiophile's reccomendation for a 7.1 surround rig for a PC for under $450-$500?
 
It's kinda pointless to get the Mystique just to encode a Dolby digital stream and then turn around and decode it three feet away but it would make a nice card for when you get tired of the Logitech's blaoted bass
 
Right. I've heard about the bloated bass, and I've been looking for a different set of speakers, preferrably a set with digital inputs for my cable box. IThe Klipsch 5.1 Ultras sound really nice, had a chance to listen to them the other day. Anyone have a word or two on the Gigaworks 7.1 set?
