What is the 1900XTX? when will it be available, I thought that the next gen was going to be a while before they are going to be sold, where can I find some information? (please no inquirer links)

It's an upgraded x1800xt basically. Even more shader power.

7800GTX512 = 36fps.
X1800XT = 39fps.

All stock.

Trust me, the above is real. So in Fear, which is VERY shaderintensive (here the XTX can excell), the 1900XTX is ~25% faster. I estimate that in other, less shaderintensive games, the difference will be smaller, let's say 15-25%. Depending on the game.

Noone really knows when it's coming or how much it's going to be. Speculation abounds so if you want hard facts you won't find any. The card is just a refresh of what they have now so ATI should not have problems launching the card at least one would think that but with past performance this past year don't put your eggs in one basket.

It probably won't be a huge improvement over current cards probably a 5-10% gain in real world gaming if at all and it might take awhile for you to see that with the drivers.

What??

If ATI did that, I'd say they've gone bonkers. Discontinue a card after it's been around for only four months?
 
its not just that but the R580 has all the line ups to cover the R520 launch, it'll be replacing mid end and low end as well, to discontinue the creation of the r520 core and other cores based on it would be stupid in my opinion, maybe discontinue the current skew on the X1800's and change it around a bit, make it cheaper and slap it anywhere they want would be a good idea, seeing as the core is still a very bad ass peice of hardware
 
nVidia did the same with the 7800 GTX 512 they made enough just to take then crown back. :D And also Samsung didnt make enough of those rams :mad: .

P.S. the 7800 GTX 512 is being discontinued too.
 
well I had my mind made up about the 7800GT but I really want to give ATI another chance , I had a 9800pro before I got my 6800GT and I was happy with it I have till the first week of feb to make a decision...man I cant wait.
