Yep looks like there is going to be one final X1900 card before R600.

From your favorite source naturally: R580+

Basicly it´s exactly what Nvidia did with 7900, smaller die shrink to run it cooler and maybe with bit higher clocks. Now that Vista and DX10 have been pushed to 2007 january, it seems like a smart move on ATIs part.

I can see 800MHz core...maybe even synchronous to mem speed like the good old days.

LOL This is about ATI . NV is having problems @ 90nm I think they better solve those problems first.

You guys filled up on the salad . should have waited for main course. I will try the prime rib.

i hope they go the single-slot cooler route like nvidia did for the 7900, and the lower power consumption. it'd make it a lot friendlier for shuttles and other sff's :)

Well the 7900GTX is dual slot. How are they going to release this series? X1950's? They just came out with the X1900's and the X1800's wernt to long ago.. And there Direct X 10 cards are due next fall. How is this going to work? Or is the R600 going to debut when Vista debuts, and it sounds like Vista wont be here to next year. So maybe it work out in a weird way. Either way, good job ATI.

It will probably be X1950xtpe . My brother inlaw said as a personal favor to me.// Vista well be released to OEM in december for the holidays. Retail in January. Of course there will be those people that get them befor retail . As is usual.
